The Special Meaning Behind Our Name: The Wine Finch

A quick story from The Wine Finch's Co-Founder, Heather Landeros, about how the unique name of their Idyllwild wine bar came to be.

When my husband and I decided to take the leap into opening our dream wine bar, we couldn't decide on a name. None of the names we tossed around were quite it.

That's right about when we met up with some friends who had recently returned from a trip to New Zealand. While on a hike, they were telling David and me about a restaurant they visited and loved called The Blind Finch. Between the stomp of our hiking boots and heavy breathing, I thought they said The Wine Finch. It was a happy misunderstanding that led us to the name we ultimately fell in love with.

David and I have love nature, hiking and bird watching (maybe that's more of my thing!) and I thought The Wine Finch was the perfect name.
